When the mutant noise of the Catalan duo ZA! collides with the genetic heritage of Perrate, the result is not a mere collaboration, but a living organism that devours the distance between the root and the rave. On the one hand, the duo from Calonge and Terrassa brings twenty years of sonic guerrilla warfare, pure self-management (with a spirit akin to Fugazi), and an almost quantum capacity to mix free jazz, post-rock, and Dadaism. On the other, Perrate, a descendant of Utrera's Romani aristocracy, unleashes a cante that sounds like an ancestral echo and avant-garde rock. Together they have birthed “Jolifanto”, an explosion where flamenco acts as a magnet attracting avant-garde particles in a ceremony of collective improvisation, generating a polymetric tide that drags you from the tablao to the club.
