With over twenty years of experience in traditional and roots music, Peter Van Rompaey is a prominent journalist, promoter, and label director. Since 2002, he has been the founder and general director of Muziekpublique, a platform through which he promotes migrant artists from around the world. Throughout his career, he has curated the Brosella Folk and Jazz Festival and programmed the Festival d’Art de Huy, as well as curating the Klangkosmos tour in Germany since 2025. Co-founder of the World Music Network Belgium, Peter is a leading voice in the sector: he serves as an expert for the Flemish arts administration and is a member of the music commission for the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. He has also published hundreds of specialized articles and is a board member of Darna.
